The Electoral Literacy Club (ELC) and Chaitanya Suraksha Club of Chaitanya Bharathi Institute of Technology (CBIT) marked National Girl Child Day with a series of impactful events focused on raising awareness about the rights, education, and empowerment of girl children.

The program, organized by CBIT, brought together students, faculty, and distinguished guests to emphasize the importance of gender equality and nurturing the potential of every girl child. This year’s theme, "Empowering Girls for a Brighter Future," set the celebration's tone.

The event commenced with an inspiring keynote address by Dr. G.N.R. Prasad garu, highlighted the transformative power of education in girls' lives. Indian philosophy often celebrates the divine feminine as Shakti (the creative energy of the universe), placing equal or even greater importance on goddesses compared to gods. Sri PRK Prasad garu remarked, “The girl child is the cornerstone of society, the nurturer of families, and the harbinger of change. By empowering a girl, we empower generations. Today’s celebration is an acknowledgment of her importance and a call to action to secure her rightful place in every sphere of life.”

Adding to this, Dr. Vijaya Laxmi Madam reflected on India’s progress in addressing gender disparities, stating, “Initiatives like Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao, and policies promoting education and health for girls have shown significant impact. The growing number of girls excelling in academics, sports, and leadership proves that, when given opportunities, they can achieve greatness.”

CBIT takes pride in its commitment to gender equality and continues to inspire its students to become advocates for social change, creating a brighter future for all.
