T. Suvarna Kumari, Assistant Professor in the Department of CSE at Chaitanya Bharathi Institute of Technology (CBIT), has been awarded a doctorate from Osmania University, according to the CBIT Public Relations Officer (PRO) Dr. G.N.R. Prasad . The PRO stated that she successfully defended her thesis titled "A Semantic Approach to Enhance Quality in Collaborative Filtering" under the supervision of Dr. K. Sagar, Professor and Principal of Geetanjali College of Engineering and Technology, Hyderabad.

On this occasion, Dr. T. Suvarna stated that her thesis focuses on improving consumers' browsing experiences and providing them with personalized information through recommender systems. Despite advancements in collaborative filtering approaches, issues like data sparsity, scalability limitations, and the cold-start problem persist in movie recommendation systems. Her research addresses these challenges using a semantic approach to enhance the quality of recommender systems.

CBIT Principal Prof. C. V. Narasimhulu, along with the staff of the Department of CSE, praised her efforts and congratulated her on this significant achievement.
